Civil engineering is classified as one of the most important and popular branches of engineering. It focuses on the study and design of civil structures in various forms, including factories, housing, roads, bridges, tunnels, water networks, dams, and more.
The role of a civil engineer is fundamental to these construction projects, as their presence is essential for the successful completion of such projects. Their responsibilities include overseeing plans, implementation, and other related tasks.
Civil engineering is divided into several subfields, including structural engineering, construction project management, construction engineering, transportation engineering, geomatics engineering, environmental engineering, water engineering, and more.
The duration of studying civil engineering in Turkey is four years, plus an additional preparatory year to learn the language of instruction, whether Turkish or English.
