Dentistry is classified among common medical specialties, focusing on the study, treatment, and cosmetic enhancement of diseases related to the mouth, jaws, and teeth.
Several branches of dentistry exist, such as oral surgery, periodontal therapy, dental implantology, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, and others.
Both public and private universities in Turkey offer dental medicine programs. The duration of studying dentistry in Turkey is five years, plus an additional preparatory year to learn the language of instruction, whether English or Turkish.
