Erzincan Binali Yıldırım University (EBYU) is a state university that was established in 2006 by separating from Atatürk University. Erzincan University changed its name in 2018 and took its current name. In addition, 186 international students study at the university, which hosts around 24 thousand students in total.

EBYU, which aims to raise and develop students' professional skills, is advancing with a quality education vision. EBYU has the mission of raising well-equipped individuals in line with universal values, based on science and reason, with a human-oriented education approach. EBYU has managed to enter the world rankings in 5 of the evaluations made in 11 different categories in the 2020 URAP world university rankings. It was ranked 44th among universities in Turkey.

According to the SCImago 2021 evaluation, which examines the contribution of scientific publications to the world of science, it was ranked 772 among world universities.

EBYU, which has established cooperation protocols with Erasmus and Mevlana Programs, introduces its students to the opportunity to study abroad. In addition, international students are brought to the university through these programs. EBYU, which also implements the Farabi Program, also exchanges students with many universities in the country.
