Niğde
As one of the most important cities in the Central Anatolian Region, Niğde has history dating from the Palaeolithic era. Finds recovered in the Kaletepe Obsidian Workshops are believed to be more than 65,000 years old. Niğde, known in antiquity as Nahita, features archaeological excavations and historical artifacts, thermal springs and natural beauties, arts and culture, and agriculture, primarily potatoes and apples. As well, Niğde is a prominent province in terms of handicrafts, and carpets woven in the region are exported throughout the world.
