A city of multiple civilizations in the Eastern Anatolia Region, Muş is an important city that sparkles in all four seasons. It carries its millennia of cultures to the present while meeting the requirements of modern life. It is not known exactly when Muş was founded or how the city got its name. However, as with many cities in Anatolia, there are legends about Muş, and these legends offer a perspective on the city’s history even as they constitute the culture of the city. Muş, where Medes, Persians, Assyrians, Byzantines, Seljuks, Ottomans and, especially, Urartians, lived on its lands, is an unexplored treasure with historical and cultural traces of these civilizations. Resembling heaven on earth with its fresh air, clear water, majestic mountains and wide plateaus, Muş becomes a colourful beauty in spring, with a plethora tulips and other flowers. The city welcomes its visitors to discover the Malazgirt district, which gave a start to Türkiye’s history in Anatolia, Evliya Çelebi's wonderfully legendary, Mythology of Mount Süphan, and the exotic Akdoğan Mountains, with the Hamurpet Lakes on top.
