its inception:

Mersin University is a public university established in 1992, and it began providing its educational services in the same year. The number of current students at the university is 35016 students, 2230 of whom  are active foreign students.

Mersin University MEÜ aims to be a higher education institution with a high degree of diploma, constantly raising its academic quality, and aiming for permanent progress in science. Mersin University, which has many research and application centers, is interested in the professional development of its students and has the task of graduating qualified individuals.

 According to News & World Report 2020; Mersin University is ranked 13th among Turkish universities in the "World Universities" assessment.

According to the 2022 URAP report, it has managed to be among the top 50 universities in Turkey.
