The establishment:
Officially established in 1992, Yildiz Technical University (YTÜ) is a public institution with a history dating back to 1911. It is a scientific heritage that has been transferred from the Ottoman Empire to the Republic era. The foundations of the university were laid with the conductor Mekteb-i Alisi, which was inaugurated in 1911. Similar to the "Ecol De Conducteur" education system adopted in Paris, the university is one of the first institutions to offer education in a Western style.
More than 40 thousand students continue their education at the university, and about 1500 of which are foreign students.

Yildiz Technical University is located in Istanbul, in the Besiktas region on the Bosphorus, where the Asian section meets the European, and the heritage meets civilization.
Why Yildiz Technical University?
According to the 2022 URAP assessment, YTÜ is ranked 12th in the overall ranking of universities in Turkey, and 9th among public universities.
Yildiz Technical University is the first university in Turkey to obtain ISO 9001 among universities.
According to the 2018 URAP assessment results, it has entered the top 500 among the best universities in the world and has become one of 8 Turkish universities that can enter this ranking.
In all the URAP assessments made in the last 3 years, it managed to stay among the top 15 universities among the best universities in Turkey.
In the 2021 URAP Assessment of World Universities, it was able to obtain a rating of 9 out of 11 different categories.
YTÜ, which managed to enter the top 400 universities in one of these rankings, is included in the top 1000 universities in the other six rankings.
The university was named "Green Campus" in the GreenMetric assessment, and ranked 13th among Turkey's universities in this field.
In the 2021 assessment conducted by YÖK, it was ranked fifth among research universities. In addition, there is a technopark within the university that was chosen as the second best technology park in the fifth summit of technology development zones.
Yildiz Technical University has many accreditations, including: MIAK - IQNET - NMR - MUDEK.
Yildiz Technical University is involved in the Erasmus Plus student exchange program with many universities around the world.
It has a dual major system that allows students to obtain a degree in each major.
It provides educational services in both English and Turkish, and the departments taught in English include: Chemistry, Economics, Business Administration, Architecture, Medical Devices Engineering, Biological Medicine, and Chemical Engineering.
