Important announcement Regarding the 2022 YÖS Exam

The Foreign Student Exam (YÖS), which has been organized by universities since 2011, will be administered centrally by the Assessment, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) as of 2022.

In line with the decision of the Council of Higher Education on 23.06.2021, it was decided that the Foreign Student Exam (YÖS), which has been organized by universities since 2011, will be implemented centrally by OSYM as of 2022.

In line with this decision, some changes were made in the principles of student selection and placement. These changes are briefly as follows:

- Central Foreign Student Admission Exam (MYÖS) will be held by ÖSYM as of 2022.

- Foreign nationals, citizens of the Republic of Turkey, TRNC citizens, Blue Card holders, who have completed their secondary education in secondary education institutions abroad or are at the stage of completion, will be able to enter MYÖS.

- Only MYÖS results will be used for student admission to MEDICAL, DENTISTRY, PHARMACY, LAW, TEACHING AND ENGINEERING PROGRAMS. (base points will be brought to these programs)

- Programs other than MEDICINE, DENTISTRY, PHARMACY, LAW, TEACHING, ARCHITECTURE AND ENGINEERING PROGRAMS will be accepted with diploma grade and other national and international exams (SAT, ACT, IB etc.).

- Students who will transfer between universities will be required to take the MYÖS exam.

- MYÖS will be held simultaneously in many countries abroad.

- The exam will be in Turkish, German, English, French, Russian and Arabic.

- The scope of the exam will be determined by the Council of Higher Education in a way that will measure the basic learning outcomes. (Math, Geometry, IQ)

- Students who will study high school in Turkey:

Those who will enroll in 2022-2023 and after will be able to enter the university with the YKS exam as of 2026. (Except for embassy schools and international private education institutions in the MOBIS system)

Those registered before 2022-2023 (still 9-10-11-12 class students) will be able to enter the university with the MYÖS exam.
